I haven’t posted for quite a while and there is no excuse except life. Summer has been really busy for us lately. We have adopted two Yorkie puppies temporarily. We went on a mini vacation and my kiddos and hubby have still taken over my computer for “Toon Town”.
I am awake before everyone else today so I finally get some time on my laptop. I say MY because it was intended to be mine since the stairs were really hard for me to manage and our family computer is in the basement family room. The problem is that the computer is old and my families new addiction of playing Toon Town doesn’t work on the old computer so they keep stealing mommy’s laptop.
This summer has been busy. The kids have attended a couple of vacation bible camps and the time just seems to be flying by. Our latest adventure has been taking care of two Yorkie puppies. My sister’s two Yorkies finally figured out what to do to make puppies after five years and the mama had a litter of four. She lives in Illinois and she brought them to visit us when they were four weeks old. My 4yo superhero named all of them as he sang them a lullaby. The two girls are Queenie and Princess and the two boys are Clifford and Buddy.
At ten weeks old, my sister came to visit again and left all four of them. They are the cutest little babies I have seen and we have all fell in love with them. Grandma and Grandpa adopted Princess. My niece adopted Queenie and we are deciding if we are adopting the two boys, Clifford and Buddy. We have been keeping them at our house until my sister comes back to visit and we all are falling in love with them except for maybe my hubby.
The problem is that we have our “Smokey”. He is a Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog that we adopted from the shelter almost two years ago. He has been doing fine with the little dogs. Basically he ignores them. My hubby has made the decision that we can either keep the two pups or Smokey. How in the world do we do that? We can’t give Smokey away although he sheds like two cats, barks at every car or person that goes by, and has big poop!!! He is annoying but the kids love him, he is wonderful with the kids, and he is part of the family. Of course we are trying to convince Daddy that we need to have all the dogs for our family but that isn’t going over very well.
Having two puppies is like having newborns again. I am in charge and listen for them to cry in the middle of the night if they have to go outside. I have to watch to make sure no accidents happen in the house and I, along with my 7yo princess have to take them outside all of the time during the day. It is a lot of work but we are loving it. I told my hubby that maybe we should consider adopting some children because I am loving a full house. That isn’t going over very well either.
On top of constantly watching the puppies, I need my sleep in order for me not to be in so much pain. Having babies interrupts this sleep so it hasn’t been a really restful couple of weeks. That is okay. Loving on them and holding them and taking care of them is quite a delight for me.
We did have to figure out what to do with the boys while we visited my hubby’s dad for a mini vacation but Grandma and Grandpa stepped up to the plate and took care of them so three dogs for them to take care of while we were gone for four days. They are bringing them back today but Grandma says she is going to have to re-train her Princess because she is used to having her brothers with her. Maybe Grandma will adopt a second one so Princess can have company!
We will see what happens in the next week and what final decision is made. I just wanted to show you some pictures of these pretty baby boys.
