Are You Content With Who You Are???

by Karen on October 14, 2009

Can you believe it is already time for the 4 month stretch of holidays? Where does the time go? We have purchased our Halloween costumes and our treats to give out to the trick or treaters.
This year I let my kids pick more than one costume. Why? Because they like to dress up. They will wear one costume on Halloween but before and after they will randomly dress up like their favorite super hero or movie star. They love it. Some days I might have a power ranger, High school musical character, or a fairy hanging out with me and I love it. I have two creative kids and imaginative kiddos. I just love to listen to the plays and stories that they create.
Don’t we all sometimes wish we were someone else? Don’t we all wish we could just create a character and act out their lives for a minute or two or have a day in the life of someone else? Don’t we sometimes think the grass is greener on the other side or in the life of someone else? Don’t we sometimes think that others lives are better?
I used to but I don’t anymore. I am content. I don’t think I was ever content until I really began getting in the word of God. I always wanted something more, something different, something new but now I am content. I accept and love whatever God sends my way. I may not understand why but I am grateful because I know there is a reason and a blessing even in the sometimes mundane or not so great events that happen to me. I love my life even though it may be full of pain. I love my life even though we have had to completely change and adjust since I got sick three years ago.
Can you say that? Can you say that you are content where you are right now? Can you find the blessing in all that you have and all that you do right now?
I can….now…after becoming a Christian… because I know that my life is already planned by my Father and he knows what is best for me. I don’t want anymore. I just am joyous and blessed in this life as a wife and mama and I know that I am fulfilling God’s purpose for my life every day. I hope you are too.
Have a blessed and pain free day!

I am content- I have learned or I should say God has taught me that contentment has nothing to do with my circumstances and everything to do with my connection to Him. Great post!

Karen,Thank you for stopping by my blog last week to share your amazing story and offering your prayers!! How my heart hurts for the pain and suffering you have been through. Your words give me such assurance that the steps we are taking with this surgery are good ones. I needed to hear your words. God truly used you as a word of confirmation from Him. I pray that God will bring the fullness of His healing Hand upon you this day and relieve you of pain. I can see you have a beautiful heart. You inspire me as I see you, in the midst of your personal pain and suffering, allowing God to use you to bless others. Thank you for reaching out to us and for praying for us. We rest in your prayers!!Blessings,Wendy
